Vigil for Black Lives

  • The Cathedral of St. John the Divine 1047 Amsterdam Avenue New York, NY, 10025 United States (map)

The Cathedral of St. John is hosting a Vigil for Black Lives lost to police violence. From the event page on the Cathedral’s website:

The Cathedral’s clergy, members of its Congregation of Saint Saviour, and people from the broader Cathedral community will gather on the Cathedral’s front steps to say the names of Black people who have been killed and pray a litany of repentance. All who attend the gathering will be encouraged to take a knee, raise a fist, or make another gesture of protest and solidarity.

According to the Cathedral’s Instagram, the vigil will be followed by a march to the statue of Adam Clayton Powell, Jr., about a mile away. Bring a mask and an umbrella, and join us.
